Satellite TV Addict

TGS is having auditions for the new cast member. Liz has finally found the right person for the cast. Liz and Pete set up an audition so rigged that Jack can only pick their favorite out of the other losers set to audition.

When Jenna tricks Kenneth into revealing there is a new cast member audition she is panicked at the thought of the audition. She goes to Tracy for support, believing any new cast member is a threat to her fame and time on stage. Tracy tells Jenna they already have a skinny white guy picked out as the new cast member. Jenna finds out the selected cast member is Jayden Michael Tyler, an actor she was in a play with years ago. Jenna confronts Liz telling her Jayden is evil and crazy. Liz sluffs off Jenna’s remarks thinking Jenna is jealous of Jayden.

Jack is scratching as he talks to Kenneth. Kenneth tells Jack he must have an invasion of bedbugs. Discovering bedbugs are a scourge in New York, Jack is horrified he has them. Jack suddenly becomes a pariah to the TGS staff and then his business partners, who choose to meet with him on webcam instead of face to face. Jack’s company car is taken away and he must resort to taking mass transit to go to the doctor’s office. As Jack rides the bus in his expensive suit and tie, the passengers avoid him and his incessant scratching.

Dotcom decides he should audition for TGS, having played the lead in a Russian play on stage years before. Dotcom convinces Liz to let him audition for TGS. Pete is terrified saying allowing Dotcom to audition means TGS will be innundated with people off the street wanting to audition. Liz thinks nothing of this until an actor who Liz realizes looks just like Brian Williams (in a guest spot) walks in, eager to audition for the show.

Jenna and Tracy plan to sabotage the auditions. They drive through New York, collecting actors from the street to come to the auditions thinking the more actors the less chance Jayden will have to land the role on TGS. Liz finds out what Jenna and Tracy are up to and tells them Jayden already has the part.

An actor playing a robot outside of the TGS building is the only person who will connect with Jack, so Jack invites him to the TGS audition. After Jack’s experience of being shunned he empathizes with regular folk and tells Liz to open the auditions to everyone who wants to audition. Liz and Pete feel they have no choice and let the masses audition for TGS.

uditions begin with members from the writers group, Dotcom, the robot actor, the Brian Williams look-alike and a Susan Boyle look-alike all getting a chance at the TGS cast part. Liz is excited to see Jayden audition last, thinking he will be great. As Jayden starts with a variety of star impersonations, Liz realizes all the big stars that called her giving Jayden a recommendation were actually him on the phone. Ticked off, Liz confronts Jayden who cackles wickedly, pulling out a photo he took of Liz and indecent photos of himself to blackmail her.

Liz tells Jenna she was right about Jayden being crazy and Jenna feels vindicated. Jack tells Liz and Pete who the new cast member is, there is only one obvious choice he can see. Liz braces for Jayden winning the cast member role but Jack tells her it will be the robot actor because he is the only person who treated him as a human being during his bedbug debacle. Liz smiles, relieved evil Jayden did not get the TGS role.
