Winners 2009 Annual Golden Globe Awards For Television

goldenglobeawardsThe 2009 Golden Globes Awards was an entertaining event, made even better by host Ricky Gervais. The only problem with Gervais was the amount of time he had on stage which was limited. The zings to the stars Gervais doled out were both funny and clever and taken with good humor. The ever popular Mad Men won again for Best Television Series. Newcomer Glee took the award for best comedy or musical this year, edging out last year’s winner 30 Rock. In the “when are these great actors ever going to win an award?” category, Kevin Bacon won for his performance in Bringing Home Chance, and Michael C. Hall finally won for his role in Dexter – its about time. In a movie aside, under appreciated star Jeff Bridges won for best actor, winning a Golden Globe for his performance in Crazy Heart. Toni Collette won for her performance in United States of Tara while Alex Baldwin won again for 30 Rock. There were some surprises here and there and the awards seemed to be spread out well among the television and movie nominees. Rainy weather aside it seemed like the favorite awards ceremony of the entertainment industry was once again an enjoyable evening for both industry and television viewers alike.
