House Season 6 Episode 4: The Tyrant

houseseason6ep3-220x200This week’s episode finds Dr. Gregory House back from the asylum and returning to his normal life, at least his “new” normal life after therapy. House has moved in with Wilson and is having run-ins with Wilson’s disagreeable neighbor, a Vietnam vet who lost his arm during the war and threatens to sue House for trespassing in his apartment. Thirteen and Foreman try hashing out their differences after Thirteen’s firing, with Foreman trying to hire her back, all leading to problems in their relationship. While Cuddy assigns Foreman to head up the medical team in House’s absense, House decides he will sit in as an observer on their newest case, an African dictator named Dibala who may have been poisoned during his trip to the United Nations.

With Cameron and Chase replacing Taub and Thirteen, House finds himself back three years with the original medical team. House and Foreman clash as House tries his best to stay out of the medical decisions for Dibala but just can’t help himself. House causes problems with Wilson’s neighbor and Wilson decides House has to move out. House confronts Wilson’s neighbor, helping him face his lie about the war and that his injury is self-inflicted, in the process finding he can manage the pain in his arm for the first time in years. Grateful, the neighbor drops the law suit against House.

Cameron and Chase are faced with the reality of Dibala as a ruthless dictator who plans genocide for his nations enemies and their responsibility to treat their patient like any other patient. An assassination attempt by a fellow patient familiar with Dibala’s “death squads” fails and the patient is beaten by Dibala’s bodyguards. Dibala threatens Cameron in fear of Cameron trying to kill him through treatments which Cameron denies.

Foreman wants to treat Dibala for Blastomycosis and not Scleroderma. Chase’s test show the dictator has Scleroderma and is treated for it. Dibala begins to bleed out and dies while the medical team try to save him. Chase admits to Foreman he faked the blood test using a corpse in the morgue who had Scleroderma so Dibala would die instead of commit genocide. At the end of the episode Foreman burns the blood test from the morgue to cover for Chase.
