Mythbusters On Discovery
Mythbusters is a science show with plenty of action and explosions involved in the experiments. Mythbusters has evaluated well-known myths and accepts questions about myths from viewers of the show, making science cool again. The fun is in the way tests are performed and just how far the Mythbusters will go to prove or bust a myth.
Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage are the original Mythbusters, making science fun and action packed. Jamie has been involved in movie special-effects for many years and has experience as a scuba diver, wilderness survival expert, boat captain and machinist. Adam has years of experience as a special effects designer/fabricator, actor and educator. Low-key Jamie swears by simple scientific ideas while hyper Adam tends to go out on a limb when it comes to creating solutions to myths. Their personalities are opposite, often leading to comic moments with Adam getting himself in trouble as Jamie solves the problem.
Jamie and Adam often use crash dummies in their experiments, one of which is featured in many episodes. “Buster” is the most often used dummy for their high tech experiments, often losing an arm or leg in the process and pieced together again for the next project. Jamie and Adam also use ballistics gel to create body parts for myths requiring shooting of bullets, projectiles and other high speed science ideas.
Jamie and Adam have been joined by the younger science team of Grant, Kari and Tory, who have science backgrounds and work on projects together in the series. Jamie and Adam build much of the equipment needed for the experiments.Together these talented guys test fascinating science projects such as meat myths, crash and burn myths, strangest myths, movie myths, prison break myths, demolition myths, underwater car escape myth, exploding water heater myth, drinking myths and many more.
