Liz starts her Christmas gift list for TGS stars and staff. Liz realizes since Jack is her friend she should buy him a gift too. Liz asks Jack what he wants for Christmas, explaining this is the method her family uses so that way everyone gets what they want. Jack tells Liz she should be able to discover what he likes by knowing him. Jack creates a social networking profile on YouFace and gets “finger tagged” from his high school crush, Nancy Donavan. Liz tells Jack her high school crush was Larry Wilcox of the cop show CHiPs. Jack sets up a meeting with Nancy, who is visiting New York with her two teen-age sons. The thought of seeing Nancy again cheers Jack up for the holidays.

Pete is tired of Jenna always begging out on charity giving from the TGS staff. Pete hears the new cast member Danny singing like an angel on the set and plans to have Danny sing the Christmas solo instead of Jenna. When Danny realizes Pete is trying to upset Jenna by giving him the solo he suggests they do a duet instead. Pete smiles and agrees, knowing Jenna hates to share the spotlight with anyone.

Cerie, Liz’s personal assistant, helps Jack understand his new YouFace profile. Cerie tells Jack that Nancy’s YouFace profile shows her relationship status with her husband has changed from “working on it” to “weirdsies.” Jenna plots to keep Danny from singing the duet with her. Danny finally confronts Jenna who admits the Christmas solo means a lot to her: the only happy time for her during Christmas was singing carols at the mall while her mom shoplifted.

The writers find out Kenneth is coming by for his annual Secret Santa gift exchange. The writers hate the extreme rules and lame gifts in Kenneth’s gift exchange and resort to creating a fake religion called “Verducianism” that prohibits them from participating in the event, with their religion requiring Kenneth to do things for them like order pizzas. Kenneth decides he should help the writers celebrate their strange religion. When Tracy tells Kenneth the writers made up the religion to get out of his Secret Santa gift exchange, Kenneth starts to have doubts about his own faith. Kenneth believes the only way his God is real is if Pete, Lutz, and Toofer are punished for lying to him. Pete, Lutz, and Toofer are arrested in a case of mistaken identity, restoring Kenneth’s faith in God.

Danny feels sorry for Jenna and decides he will sing off key to make Jenna happy about her part of their Christmas duet. Jenna is startled then thrilled that Danny is allowing her to stay in the spotlight. Pete realizes what Danny is doing and storms off the set, his plans ruined.

Jack’s assistant Jonathan is jealous that Liz is exchanging gifts with Jack. Jonathan tells Liz Jack’s Christmas gifts are extravagant and he can never match the level of gifts he gives. Jack and Liz agree that their gifts to each other must cost nothing. Jack laments to Liz that he enjoyed his time so much with Nancy he is homesick for Boston and wishes she could stay longer. Liz leaves to find the perfect gift for Jack.

Nancy surprises Jack at his office, he discovers her train has been cancelled. Jack and Nancy spend a romantic evening together, making Jack’s wish come true. Liz is thrilled with Jack’s Christmas gift, an original ticket from the high school play she starred in, “The Crucible”, framed with wood from the high school stage. Jack tells Liz he and Nancy spent time together. Liz tells Jack Nancy’s train was delayed by a bomb threat and hopes he liked his Christmas gift. As Liz and Jack leave the building, Jack’s real Christmas gift to Liz, Larry Wilcox from CHiPs, sits on his motorcycle waiting for her. As Liz beams, Jack wishes Liz a Merry Christmas.

Dwight tells the camera he’s just too tired to continue with his diabolical plot to get Jim fired, at least for the holiday season. Phyllis comes to work dressed as Santa, she has dreamed of playing Santa for years and now her wish is fulfilled. Michael usually plays Santa and is upset by a woman Santa at the office. Phyllis made a deal with Jim to play Santa this year. Michael demands that Jim tell Phyllis she can’t be the office Santa but Jim tells Michael Phyllis is Santa for this year’s office party. An upset Michael tries to spoil the office party and calls Phyllis “Tranny Claus”.

Andy is Erin’s secret Santa at work. Andy has devised a plan to have each of “The 12 days of Christmas” verses come alive for her this Christmas. Erin complains of having these overboard gifts sent to her, like finding her car filled with geese. A few of the live gifts have scratched her and caused multiple problems, making Erin wonder who in the world this jerk is since no one is fessing up to being her Secret Santa. After hearing her complaints, Andy decides to keep his status as Erin’s secret Santa secret until party spoiler Michael announces this to the office staff. Andy is discouraged but decides he won’t give up on winning Erin over.

Michael decides the office staff must vote on who gets to play Santa this year. Phyllis wins the vote and Michael feels angry and defeated. Phyllis gathers the staff around the Christmas tree, lights the tree and begins to share Santa’s Christmas stories. Michael decides to wear his Santa suit inside out all in white thinking he can win back the staff at the party by portraying Jesus at the Christmas party.

A disgruntled Michael decides he will call David Wallace to complain about Phyllis playing Santa. Michael calls Wallace at a bad time: Wallace tells Michael the company has been sold and that the new owners are cleaning house, firing him and the other bigwigs. Michael thinks everyone at Dunder Mifflin Scranton is being fired and decides to get into the holiday spirit. Michael tries to cheer up the office staff by buying pizza. The staff meets with Michael in the conference room and Michael tells them the bad news about the company. The staff panics, thinking they are all fired. Jim tells Michael they need to call David Wallace back and find out what’s really happening.

Michael gathers the office staff and warehouse staff into his office and calls David Wallace. Wallace tells them only the executives are losing their jobs. The office staff is relieved and cheer their good fortune. Michael sits on Santa Phyllis’ lap and asks for a present, then tells her he is sorry. Santa Phyllis tells Michael he is a good boy and will get his wish.

The office staff leave the Christmas party feeling good about their jobs and relieved their office and its staff will be left intact. As the office staff gather outside to leave the Christmas party the next part of Erin’s Secret Santa present arrives to surprise her. 12 drummers in full regalia walk around the corner drumming, thrilling Erin as an excited Andy slams cymbals together in rhythm with the drummers.

Shirley is throwing a Christmas party for her fellow Spanish Club members. Shirley believes her classmates are the only real family she has left after her divorce. She gives out Jesus bracelets saying “WWBJD” — what would Baby Jesus do? which the gang reluctantly puts on to be polite.

In the student lounge Abed grabs some winterdoodle cookies to share with his classmates. The college bully gives Abed a hard time for taking his favorite cookies. Jeff steps up and verbally assaults the bully, telling him to back away. Dean Pelton breaks up the argument.

In the study group Shirley commends Jeff for keeping things non-violent in the holiday season. Jeff complains he will fail Spanish 101 if he doesn’t pass the upcoming final, a thought which horrifies him. Shirley invites the club to her campus Christmas party after the final. Shirley is very Christian and finds out her fellow students come from all different religious backgrounds: Abed is Muslim, Troy is a Jehovah Witness, Annie is Jewish, Jeff is agnostic, Britta is atheist and Pierce thinks he is a Buddist (Britta thinks he’s in a cult). Shirley is having trouble coping with classmates who see Christmas differently than she does.

Senor Chang hangs out at his desk in a mexican hat bored out of his mind while the students take their Spanish final. As Jeff sweats over the test the bully appears outside the class taunting him. Senor Chang allows the bully to enter the classroom because he’s bored; the bully throws Jeff’s test papers in the air. Jeff tells the bully the fight is on.

Jeff, Abed, Troy and Pierce discuss the upcoming fight. Jeff admits he’s never been in a fight before. Pierce tells Jeff he can’t be a true man until he has been hit in the face. Troy, Abed, Britta and Pierce show Jeff how to fight. Pierce has Jeff throwing punches for practice. Troy gives Jeff ways to intimidate his opponent, including saying “Wazz Up?” and the Mike Tyson evil eye. As Shirley prepares for the party, Annie slips and tells her Jeff is fighting the bully. Shirley confronts Jeff and the gang telling him if he fights the bully he is ruining the Christmas season and he cannot come to her party. Jeff decides he must fight the bully anyway.

The gang gathers at Shirley’s Christmas party. Shirley sings weird variations of Christmas carols which puzzles the group. The gang decides it is not right that Jeff is left out of the party. They confront Shirley and tell her she is acting too self-righteous about her decision and its not very Christian of her to ban Jeff from the party or question their religious beliefs. The gang leaves to watch the fight and support Jeff.

Jeff meets up with the bully and his buddies for the fight. As Jeff prepares to start fighting he sees the “WWBJD” bracelet on his wrist and remembers what Shirley said. Jeff tries to make peace with the bully, who decides to pound on Jeff anyway. When Shirley sees the bully playing dirty she yells for Jeff to “kick his ass”. The gang starts fighting the bully’s friends, destroying the winter wonderland display at school. Pierce hits Jeff in the face by accident during the fight.

The gang return to Shirley’s party, beaten and bloody. The party is on and the gang enjoy each other’s company. Pierce proclaims to Jeff he is finally a man after hitting him in the face. Senor Chang announces to the students they have all passed the final and will see him in next year’s class since he is the only Spanish teacher at Greendale college. Jeff opens a bottle of champagne to celebrate the new semester and the Christmas season.

Liz’s new talk show Dealbreakers is scheduled to air. Jack eagerly looks forward to the new show he created. Liz starts daydreaming about how her life will change if the show is a success. Liz dreams of her fantasy Astronaut boyfriend, her blond makeover and nannies taking care of her baby.

Pete drags Liz from her daydream to deal with Jenna, who has locked herself in her dressing room again, this time because of a picture her little niece drew of her. Jack receives a call from his worst nightmare, Devin Banks, who reminds Jack if the Dealbreakers show fails he will tell Washington insiders Jack spent their bailout money on a failed TV show. Jack realizes Liz has no experience as a performer and feels pressured to make sure the Dealbreakers show succeeds.

Tracy asks Liz to convince his wife Angie they should have a baby girl. When Liz says no way, Tracy locks Liz in handcuffs so she can’t leave his office. Angie arrives and Liz tells her what Tracy has in mind. Angie thinks Tracy is crazy since he hasn’t got time for her and the kids as it is. Tracy swears he will go Christmas shopping for the family to show Angie how responsible he can be. Tracy gets sidetracked and buys a gift for himself, an E.G.O.T necklace that performers who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony wear. Tracy is convinced he will win all these awards. Angie says if he can win all those awards she will give him a baby daughter.

Jack pressures Liz to change her looks and get a makeover for the show, forsaking her glasses and image. Liz agrees to laser eye surgery and a new haircut for the sake of the show. Liz is beginning to have stage fright thinking about appearing on the show. Jenna tells Jack he should support Liz and let her be who she is or he will ruin his new talent.

Liz puts Frank in charge of the writing staff. Over the next days Frank morphs into Liz as he deals with the responsibility, complete with long frazzled hair, button down sweater, shoulder bag and full-blown Liz show anxiety. The writers tease Frank about becoming Liz as Frank screams “what’s happening to me?”.

Liz arrives back from her laser eye surgery and makeover with a weird new haircut and outfit, startling Jack with her new look. As Liz starts her promo shoot Jack realizes how unprepared Liz really is to host the show. The high def camera reveals the television version of the TGS staff. A close-up in the high definition camera shows Liz as a haggard looking witch, Jack as a young version of Alec Baldwin and Kenneth as a muppet. Devin sends a bouquet of flowers with a message to Liz on how the show will fail. Liz does a “Jenna” and melts down, locking herself in her dressing room and refusing to host the show.

Tracy gathers his entourage of Jenna, Kenneth, Grizz and Dot Com to decide how he can win E.G.O.T necklace awards. Tracy decides he will create the best song ever adapted to each format to win him the awards. Tracy tries to record his song with five different musical styles and the recording fails, upsetting his plans. Tracy visits Whoopi Goldberg for advice since she has won all four awards. As Whoopi gets Tracy a glass of water Tracy tries to make off with Whoopi’s awards but Whoopi stops him in his tracks, telling him he has to use real talent to win those awards. Tracy follows Whoopi’s advice and sings a song he wrote to Angie. Winning her over with his song, Angie and Tracy decide to make a baby. Tracy keeps his goal of winning his E.G.O.T necklace awards someday.

Jack checks in with Liz the next day. Liz is doing better but worried about the show. Jack tells Liz he has sold her promo shoot to Sheinhardt Universal soap opera. When Sheinhardt Universal airs a sponsored soap opera, Liz’s promo will be showing as a background on the TV in the soap opera scene. As Jack and Liz watch one of the soap opera episodes scheduled to show Liz’s promo, the soap opera actors passionately kiss, get distracted by the promo and ask each other who that weird person is on TV.

Dwight lets Andy think its Andy’s idea. Dwight’s plan is to have Jim fired by David Wallace in six hours time. Michael is facing his worst offense ever. Michael promised ten years ago he would pay college tuition for a class of fifteen children if they kept up their grades in school. The ten years are up as the high school kids are ready to graduate and it is time to tell the kids the truth. Michael is terrified and begs Pam to go with him but she sends Erin instead to make sure Michael tells them the truth.

Michael arrives at the high school to a great welcome by the kids. The kids are decked out in “Scott’s Tots” t-shirts and perform a cool cheer “Scott’s Tots” in his honor. Dwight suggests to Jim they collect money for a cash prize for the employee of the month which Jim disagrees with.

Dwight tells the staff about the cash prize and collects money desk by desk for the prize. Dwight provides Jim with a print out of employee performances signified by numbers and no names attached to the data. As Jim announces the number of the employee of the month, Dwight goes on about the cash prize. The winner is rigged by Dwight to be Jim. The staff is angry with Jim, who as a manager doesn’t qualify for the prize. A delivery person arrives with the employee of the month cake decorated with Jim’s picture on the front. Dwight’s plan is working as Jim tells the staff he is not eligible and chooses the next name on the list, which ends up being Pam. The staff erupts in anger and Jim is not sure what to do next to fix the problem.

Michael breaks the news to the kids that he cannot pay for their college tuition. The kids are in an uproar. Michael opens a suitcase of consolation gifts and mentions laptops only to pull out laptop batteries. The kids are even more upset as Michael tries to hand out the free batteries. Dwight secretly mimics some of the staff member’s voices making phony complaint phone calls to David Wallace’s office.

David Wallace calls Jim to discuss the complaints about Scranton’s employee of the month program. Dwight listens in on his strategically planted spy pen he hid in Jim’s office. Wallace is upset at first then apologizes for his outburst and tells Jim what a great job he’s doing, angering Dwight. Ryan tells Dwight he knows about his evil plan and wants in on getting Jim fired. Dwight and Ryan form an evil alliance.

As Michael leaves the high school one of the students confronts Michael on his failed promise. Michael feels so bad he promises to pay for the kid’s books, giving him a pre-signed check for every year he is in college. Erin drives Michael back to the office and notices Michael is feeling down about the broken promise to the kids. Erin starts singing the cheer “Scott’s Tots” because it’s catchy and Michael asks her to stop. Erin convinces Michael he helped the kids by encouraging them to do well in school and get good grades to get into college. Michael tells Erin she’s doing a good job at the office and appreciates her support. Michael starts singing the “Scott’s Tots” cheer as Erin smiles and joins in.

Dean Pelton and Annie wear STD t-shirts to promote the event. Annie passes out fortune cookies with fortunes saying, “You’ll get AIDs unless you go to the STD fair”. Jeff and Britta are introduced to Dean Pelton’s new airhead administrative assistant who Jeff notes is also pretty hot.

Pierce has a new girlfriend he wants to introduce to Jeff. Pierce invites Jeff to a double date at the STD affair with Pierce’s new girlfriend who happens to be an escort but doesn’t charge him to date her. Pierce and Jeff trade jabs at each other about who is the more successful dater, and Jeff acknowledges it’s been a dry spell for him.

Troy notices Abed is able to beat him in any athletic activity they do together. Troy, being a high school football star, is annoyed at Abed succeeding in his area of capabilities and challenges him to a series of athletic tests.

Dean Pelton appreciates the work Annie has done for the STD fair so much he tells her he has chosen Annie to provide a condom demonstration on an anatomically correct model of a penis during the STD fair. Annie is frozen in fear at the honor because she’s never seen one. After much goading by Pierce Jeff agrees to the double date. Britta takes a look at Jeff’s cell phone list and comments on his juvenile way of listing girls by description, not by name. Britta sees his listing for the “hot blond from Spanish class” and realizes it is her. Jeff calls girls from his phone list but not knowing their names bombs out on getting a date.

Annie asks Britta and Shirley for help with her condom problem, as she’s sure she will mess up the condom demonstration. Annie admits to Britta and Shirley that she is not a virgin but her gay boyfriend kept the lights turned off when they were together. Annie decides the only way to make the condom demonstration work is to break into Dean Pelton’s office to see the model before the fair.

Pierce and Jeff arrive at the STD fair, Jeff arriving dateless. Pierce teases him about not being able to get a date. Dean Pelton is whirling the “Wheel of Remorse” game when Jeff asks him about Pelton’s assistant Sabrina. Jeff decides he will ask Dean Pelton’s new assistant on the STD double date and she says yes, proving to Pierce he can get a date. Senor Chang spends his time at the fair drinking and stuffing condoms into his pocket. Troy loses to Abed during one of the STD festivals games, then challenges Abed to arm wrestling. Abed wins again.

Annie, Britta and Shirley break into Dean Pelton’s office to find the model. As Annie peers through the keyhole to see the penis model, campus police walk in and bust them. Jeff is impressed with Pierce’s date, Lorraine, a seemingly intelligent, witty woman. Lorraine tells Jeff he could do better than Sabrina, but Jeff goes off with her anyway. Lorraine breaks up with Pierce, telling him if he wants to be with her it will cost him $200.

The STD fair turns into party central with students making out and getting drunk, perplexing Dean Pelton. Senor Chang suggests the fair might be the only STD event to spread STDs. Campus police tell Dean Pelton about the break in. Annie tells Dean Pelton she’s not that impressed with the penis model after all, and walks out of the office. Troy and Abed run across campus in another contest, with Abed obviously letting Troy win the challenge. Back at the party students use the condoms as water balloons. Dean Pelton realizes the Greendale logo imprinted on the condoms has left holes in them. Dean Pelton asks Troy and Abed to find the fastest runner who must run to Dean Pelton’s office and announce to the students not to use the STD fair condoms. Troy says Abed should go as the fastest runner. Abed runs to the Dean’s office and announces that students should not wear condoms.

Jeff decides he can’t go through with his date with Sabrina. Jeff pulls up his cell phone list, pulls up the “hot blond from Spanish class” number and changes it to Britta’s name. Jeff and Pierce lament their date woes at the STD fair. Pierce hits up Jeff for $200 so he can spend time with Lorraine. Jeff loans Pierce the money and smiles.

The Simpsons are leaving from their ski weekend early Sunday morning to beat the weekend traffic. Bart and Lisa protest leaving so early and Marge looks half asleep. Homer gets on the freeway and finds that everyone else away for the weekend is leaving at the same time, bogging them down for a long trip home. As hours go by, Bart, Lisa and Maggie play an annoying game that makes noise and repeats its instructions over and over. After hours of noise from the toy Homer has had enough and grabs the toy, smashing it at his feet in the car. When Homer looks up he sees a semi-truck coming straight at them and realizes the toy is wedged under his gas peddle, all he can do is turn the wheel. They careen off the highway and the family ends up on an icy lake from the accident. Cleatus, a local hillbilly, drags the unconscious Simpsons out of their car and takes them to his cabin in the snowy hills.

The family recovers and discovers the hillbilly lifestyle. Homer finds out they have pretty good moonshine from their stills and imbibes with the local guys club. Bart finds live grenades the hillbillies have stored away and uses them as bowling balls to blow up snowmen. Lisa hides from the other girls in a hide and seek game. As it gets dark she realizes no one is coming for her and tries to find her way home. Lisa runs into a coven of witches, a group of three teenage girls who consider themselves Wiccans and practice casting spells. Lisa is impressed and feels accepted by the pagan group. The Wiccans cast a spell to help Lisa as she laments about her teacher. At school, Lisa hurries to create a pipecleaner sculpture that is due today. Lisa finds out her teacher is home sick. The substitute teacher gives them all an A on the pipecleaner project. Lisa believes the Wiccans cast a spell on her teacher, saving her from flunking her pipecleaner project.

Homer decides to go back and hang out with the hillbilly guys to drink moonshine. As they drink, police sirens are heard and the hillbillies dump their moonshine into the river. Half the people in Springfield suddenly go blind. The town decides the Wiccans have cast a spell on them and take the girls to court. Lisa sticks up for the Wiccans, saying its the first time she felt cool and was treated well by the girls. The judge dismisses the case but the angry mob decides to take matters into their own hands. As the town prepares to dunk the teenage witches into water (shades of The Crucible) Lisa tells the town that the hillbilly stills leaked moonshine into the local drinking water and the blindness the people are experiencing is temporary. Lisa saves the day and the Wiccans are released.

As Liz snores away her workout time on the couch, a real estate agent barges into her apartment with prospective clients. Liz finds out her building is becoming a condo and she can buy her apartment instead of rent. Liz turns to Jack for business advice. The ever shrewd Jack tells Liz condos are at a premium in New York and it makes good business sense to buy not just one but two apartments to invest her money and enlarge her living space. Jack advises her to buy out one of her neighbors apartments.

Jack and Kenneth discuss NBC’s green initiative recommendations for the company, but neither of them buy into global warming, saying its all a myth. Since they must both follow orders Jack and Kenneth come up with a plan to recycle and use energy more efficiently around TGS.

Liz becomes friends with her upstairs neighbor to get his aparment. Her neighbor suggests they move in together since his apartment has two bedrooms and Liz agrees. As Liz has second thoughts about taking the apartment from her roomate, Liz gets advice about her apartment scheme from Jenna. Jenna, who knows how to scare roomates away, tells Liz acting crazy is always a good idea to get rid of unwanted roomates.

Jack notices Tracy’s son is visiting. Tracy tells Jack it is “take your black child to work day”. Jack and Tracy have a heart to heart talk about kids and regret. Tracy tells Jack Bill Cosby let him down, real life with family isn’t like the Cosby show. Jack states he doesn’t want kids crimping his style while Tracy doesn’t want anymore kids because he can’t tell dirty jokes while the kid is in the room. Jack and Tracy decide a vasectomy is the way to go for both of them.

Liz’s new roomate comes home to find Liz looking and acting crazed, screaming and accusing him of everything under the sun. Unfortunately the scheme goes wrong as roomate Brian tells Liz he is gay and is there to listen to her problems. Liz realizes she has to find another way to drive Brian out of the apartment. Liz finds out Frank is making sun tea in his office, peeing in empty jars, then watering the flowers with it to recycle. Liz is grossed out and tells Frank he has to stop peeing in jars.

Tracy readies himself for his vasectomy while Jack waits in the waiting room. As Tracy goes under anethesia he dreams he is living the Cosby show life and his son makes him realize with only sons he needs a little girl in the family. Jack spends time with Tracy Junior, sees the cool dad picture his son is making for him and realizes he really does want children. Jack stops Dr. Spaceman from going through with Tracy’s operation. Tracy and Jack cancel their vasectomies.

Tracy suggests Liz have a crazy ex-boyfriend who will scare the roomate into leaving. Dotcom rushes through the apartment door, staging a bad acting scene with Liz about being a scary ex-boyfriend but instead Brian offers to help Liz deal with her ex.

Kenneth commends Frank on being the most green employee at TGS. Kenneth tells Liz she must make a choice: go green by getting rid of her mini-fridge or let Frank continue his “sun tea” method of helping the environment. Liz gives in and tells Frank to close the door when peeing, he says no way.

Liz suddenly realizes Frank’s gross method may be the way to get rid of her roomate. Liz drinks tons of ice tea and as her roomate walks in the door, pees in a jar in the living room, which drives her roomate out of the apartment.

Kenneth talks to the new maintenance man (guest Al Gore) about monitoring TGS’s carbon footprint. Al Gore goes into a lengthy, funny explanation of global warming and other ways to reduce our carbon footprint.

Dwight arrives at the office dressed as recyclops, a character he created for Earth Day. Every year Dwight’s costume gets more elaborate until he becomes a transformer type hero for the earth, wreaking havoc in the office. Michael has been invited to speak at Dunder Mifflin’s shareholder’s meeting and is excited he is being recognized by the company. Michael practices his speech and gets advice from the office staff, who suggest he does not twirl after giving his speech.

Corporate sends a limousine to pick up Michael and Michael decides to invite Dwight, Andy and Oscar to the meeting as his guests. Oscar wants to give the company an earful of his ideas to save the company. Andy and Dwight grill Michael with possible questions he may receive while part of the shareholder’s panel.

At the Dunder Mifflin meeting Michael is treated to elaborate food and drink before the meeting and expects the event to be a fun time. Michael is shocked as the executives on the panel walk to the stage and are booed by the shareholders in attendance. Michael speaks up, mentioning the company bankruptcy and the crowd grows increasingly angry.

Jim is in charge of the staff but having a hard time convincing them he is after Ryan sends out an email saying Jim doesn’t have as much power as Michael when it comes to office decisions. Jim is perturbed by Ryan as he sees him lazing around not working.

Michael has his turn to speak on the panel and in the process mentions how nice the company has been to him with a fancy hotel room, the limo and the elaborate spread given for the executives prior to the meeting. As the executives tell him to be quiet and continue to speak at the meeting, Michael realizes they have no plan to pull the company out of bankruptcy. Michael tells the crowd the executives will come up with a 45 day plan to make the company solvent, angering the executives on the panel. Michael continues his pep talk and throws in his spin at the end of his speech, drawing cheers from the hopeful crowd. The exectutives wonder who this guy from Scranton thinks he is.

Jim finds even Pam isn’t convinced he has power in the office. Jim decides to make an example of Ryan. Jim finds Ryan playing a video game on his computer, tells Ryan to get back to work and Ryan ignores him. Jim tells Ryan he has a surprise for him. Ryan is puzzled but follows Jim to the front office where the staff is watching from their desks. Jim shoves Ryan into his new office space, a coat closet with computer, minimal light and no internet. As Jim slams the door shut behind Ryan he smiles as the rest of the office staff realizes Jim is definitely in charge.

Michael tries to get the executives to come up with a plan, bringing Oscar up to the room. Oscar chickens out and leaves, while Michael continues to impress on the executives they must come up with a plan. When one of the executives who could care less about saving the company calls Michael a moron because he is trying to come up with a plan, Michael tells the executive HE is a moron. As Michael is gingerly escorted out of the room he is told he will be taking the bus home. Michael gathers up Dwight, Andy and Oscar. They run to the limo, jump in and tell the driver to drive, getting their free limo ride back to the office in spite of the executives.

Dean Pelton announces the college is getting involved in Green week and changing the college’s name to Environdale. The students point out that their college is already named Greendale. Dean Pelton tells the students Green Day will be playing at the event.

The Spanish class is taking a test, Senor Chang asks everyone to put down their pens and all but Annie stop. Annie works busily having missed what Senor Chang said. Senor Chang drags Annie and her desk out into the hall and closes the door on her. An angry Senor Chang tells the class they must write a paper based on Annie’s mistake. When the students protest Senor Chang ups the ante until the paper is 20 pages, which they think is unfair.

The Spanish club decides someone needs to confront Senor Chang and talk him out of the 20 page assignment. They figure Jeff is the coolest of them and can sell Senor Chang on their idea. Jeff reluctantly agrees.

Dean Pelton meets with the band Green Day and finds out it is not the real Green Day but an Irish band. Jeff visits Senor Chang in his office and talks to him about his bad nature lately. Jeff hits the nail on the head when he asks about Senor Chang’s wife and Senor Chang breaks down admitting his wife has left him and maybe he is being too harsh on the students. When Jeff suggests he and Senor Chang should hang out that evening, Senor Chang agrees.

Abed and Troy are in science lab working with lab rats. Troy is terrified of rats and screams like a little girl when confronted with them up close, knocking the rat cage to the floor. Abed’s lab rat escapes and Abed feels obligated to find his missing rat.

Jeff and Senor Chang hang out at a bar and discuss Chang’s marriage woes. Jeff tries bringing up the subject of excess homework. Senor Chang decides Jeff deserves preferential treatment because he is now his buddy. Jeff keeps trying to talk Senor Chang into giving the entire class less homework but Chang isn’t biting.

The next day Jeff is very hung over as the Spanish club find him buying strong coffee in the cafeteria. Jeff was beyond bored talking with Senor Chang and got nowhere with the homework issue. Britta suspects Jeff is getting extra benefit from his association with Senor Chang. Pierce helps Shirley with her public speaking speech which she is terrified to give. Pierce suggests Shirley gesture with her hands to help get her points across.

Senor Chang tells the class their essay is due and will be 30 points towards their grade, and announces Jeff has already turned in his essay. Now Britta is convinced Jeff is getting a free ride with homework assignments and is ticked off. The group confronts Jeff about preferential treatment. Jeff feels angry the group doesn’t realize he’s trying to help them and threatens to quit the group. Abed searches for his lab rat, Troy joins him and together they serenade the rat into coming out of the hole in the wall, returning him to his lab cage. Pierce watches as Shirley gives her speech, faltering but then coached by Pierce’s signals does a great job with her assignment and smiles at her own accomplishment.

The Green week event begins with music from the Irish Green Day. Jeff has secretly invited Senor Chang’s wife, who meets Chang on the dance floor in a frenzied make-up dance, ending their separation. Britta realizes Jeff helped Senor Chang and the gang and is impressed. Senor Chang drops the homework assignment and the Spanish group feels relieved.
