The Simpsons Season 21 Episode 11: Million Dollar Maybe
Homer and Marge practice their duet of “Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off” for their cousin’s wedding. At work Homer opens a fortune cookie, the fortune tells Homer this is his lucky day. Lucky things keep happening to Homer so he heads for the Kwik-E-Mart to buy a lottery ticket. The lottery ticket line is very long and Homer has to wait forever. Homer is supposed to meet Marge at their cousin’s wedding but instead he stays in the line for the lottery ticket. Marge ends up singing the duet by herself, creating an awkward situation. Marge brings Bart on stage with her trying to tell knock-knock jokes and gets booed off the stage. Homer finally buys his lottery ticket and races to the wedding, only to end up driving off the road and tumbling down the hill.
In the hospital Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie are grateful Homer wakes up from his coma. Homer wakes up just in time to find out his lottery ticket has the winning numbers, making him a millionaire.
Homer realizes if he tells Marge about the lottery money she will know he missed their duet because he was buying a lottery ticket instead. Fearing Marge’s anger, Homer has his friend Barney accept the lottery money for him. Homer hides his money in a tree in his yard. The washing machine breaks down and Marge laments how they can’t afford a new one. Homer realizes the only way he can spend his money is to set up situations where he and the family “accidently” find items they want or need.
Lisa visits Grandpa at his retirement community and finds their cable is out and all they can see on the TV screen is static, depressing the retirees. Lisa decides to buy a Zii (a take on Wii) and the seniors are enthralled with the new game.
Bart discovers Homer’s secret lottery money and the two decide to do fun things together. When Homer worries they are spending too much of the lottery money, Bart blackmails his dad telling him he will rat on him to Marge. Homer and Bart spend oodles of money, including buying out a Coldplay concert with only Homer and Bart in attendance.
Lisa returns to visit Grandpa and finds out the nurses have destroyed the game. The seniors became too active using the Zii game and the nurses decided they had to work too hard so they ran the Zii game through the dishwasher to ruin it.
Homer gets fed up with Bart’s threats, buys a hot air balloon and takes Marge on a surprise ride in the air. Homer tells Marge about his lottery winnings, Marge could care less about the duet and is excited to hear about the money. Homer admits he spent all the winnings already but still loves Marge.
